699 is a lucky number in Chinese culture. 6 sounds like 'liú,' meaning smooth, symbolizing things flowing smoothly in life and business. 9 sounds like 'jiǔ,' meaning long-lasting, representing longevity, success, and enduring relationships. Hope your dreams come true soon!
'First year creep, second year sleep, third year leap', I love this gardening rule of thumb for perennials, and it really matches my hopes for growth on Substack…
Thankyou andl let's hope so🙌. I don't know if I buy into luck and lucky charms etc, I'm more of make your own... you know the old idiom Labour Under the Correct Knowledge. Longevity will only be impacted if either I give up OR Substack change the rules! The latter being a distinct possibility.
I hope you’ll not get discouraged with what you’re creating on Substack, both in writing and sketching. You have such a gift and your kind, generous spirit has been the reason why I am sketching at 70 years old, having no drawing experience at all. 😊 Always wishing you the best. Nan
Hello Carl, I think you are being a bit hard in yourself, you always create a great post, you actually know how to draw, not just sketch. I guess you always knew you were an artist unlike me… and I still don’t think that, I say I paint. Subscribers are a funny thing. I have been on Substack for 2 years and 3 months, I think I now have 70 subscribers, and most of those have accumulated in the last 6 months. I don’t do it for anyone else but me, but, if others enjoy what I do that’s great.since my last surgery I am still not back in the art room as I need to keep my leg elevated still to stop swelling, and I seem to have lost my mojo, not being able to concentrate on anything for long. I reckon the last anaesthetic fried my brain, possibly due to having had so many. Anyway enough of that. I did do another sketch or two and today I decided to add some paint to one, I want to put a bit more detail onto it before I will say it is finished, and now it is back to reading.
Hi Sally, i absolutely didn't know i could draw or be an artist for that matter. I got to the party very late!!.
This is only reflecting on why I am here and I really do want subscribers as I would also like a piece of the pie. With my health scare (and it was a scare) now in the rear view mirror i have no problem admitting i would like to earn money doing something i enjoy and love. I can safely say that has never been the case in my whole life.
So I will carry on figuring the how as I've got the why nailed!
It is good to hear you're back even tentatively back, can anesthetic do that, i hope not as I have shoulder surgery to look forward to next! Happy to see your work if you're up to for sharing 😊. Best wishes
You are not the only guy with a heart condition who shares his sketches. So do I.
Well that's two of us!
