I never start at the front, but somewhere towards the back. The pressure of perfect opening pages is too great. By working backwards the front there's also the hope that I'll be getting "better" as I progress 🤣

Perhaps you could start in the middle and go either way depending on how you feel🤣

AND talking of which, my mind is bursting with ideas right now and wondering what if I were to start a practise of learning to sketch on some partially collaged paper spreads. So that I can combine my two crafts in one. That could come with challenges, it will be hard to sketch on bumpy paper, and also the end composition may be off if I don't plan ahead carefully with which areas of the collage I sketch on. My mind boggles! But thanks for the food for thought!

I have not got into sketching yet, but your posts are making me want to start a regular practise, i feel like it will be a new skill to learn. As an Art / Visual / Creative Journaler I find having marks on an empty page is what I need to get started. Whether that's a light wash of colour, some paper collage/scraps adhered down or some pencil scribbles or a splatter or something, but I imagine that's harder for a 'clean sketch'!!
