Yes but...
Hello and thankyou for subscribing.
I heard a comment yesterday, “oh I would love to do that but….” followed by a list of why they couldn't.
I wouldn’t know where to start.
Or what materials I need
I don't really have the time
I was never that good at art
The journal I keep is too small
These are just a few of course, and there are many, but there is a common theme.
Honestly, this is the wrong ‘self talk’, it is that simple. If any thought of why you ‘can't’ pops into you head DO NOT….I repeat…DO NOT…
SAY IT OUT LOUD
Examine your motivation, by which I mean, do you really want to create?
If the answer is a resounding 'yes’, ‘absolutely yes’, ‘100% yes’, ‘most definitely yes’….. you get the idea.
Then you MUST…I repeat …MUST..
REFRAME YOUR THOUGHT
Here are some examples of reframing for the 5 above:
I need to find out how to start
I'll get the simplest of materials. (Pencil/ paper)
I can make 5-10 minutes for this in my day
I can learn new skills
I'll start small in my journal
Your desire to get creative can overcome any obstacle you put in front of it by reframing your self talk. Please people do not reinforce your self doubt by saying this stuff out loud for your brain to listen to twice [Remember you've already thought it]
When your desire is big enough the path will appear
If you want more examples of the 2nd list personalised for you then drop a comment and I'll smash it over to you in a reply , no charge, I challenge you to find one I can't reframe.
Come on, you've got this. 👍🙌🤛
Carl
Ps. Here is a crazy mess I made and didn't finish to show you it's not all sweetness and light and fluffy

That’s not a crazy mess. That’s plein air when folks are walking away after you’ve barely drawn the head and you’ve had to make a composite of 4 different people to draw just one.
