Welcome,
This time it is finally finishing the Seawhite of Brighton sketchbook started sometime last year!
I know I’m definitely not the only one that has a number of books on the go that fall in and out of favour, but these Seawhite books are pretty decent for quality and taking plenty of water being 350gsm weight paper. I just moved away from A4 wiro bound format for the time being. My drawing focus not only regularly shifts around the size, quality and texture of the book but also the process and the way I work.
Also, whether I’m working indoors or outsideand how much I can carry. Needless to say, I still currently have 4 on the go!
You can find previous sketchbook reviews from my contents page or click the link below to see a list of them all on one page.
No #7 is the Seawhite of Brighton 350gsm Wiro bound, A4, Plein air sketchbook that can be found on most art sites. It is priced anywhere between £10 -£13. Here’s an unaffiliated link to Amazon, where you can find it in the UK but probably get a better price if you shop around.
It’s actually my 8th book but I previously lumped two more of these Seawhite books into one video which was Review #2 here because I used to rip the pages out to put in a frame, so one of the books was nearly empty.
Anyway, Hope you enjoy.
Seawhite Sketchbook Review #7
Remember it really helps me to grow if you share this substack and post. I love people getting inspired to draw and paint.
I always enjoy the great variety in your sketchbooks - colours, subjects, formats!
A nice variety of subjects, thank you and good to see the ones your are less happy with as well as those you think were more successful. All have merit and encourage experimentation. I like SeaWhite paper too…particularly the cheaper sketch books 140gsm, A5 size, to carry around.
